What is an Intervention? An intervention is a carefully planned process where family and friends attempt to stop the destructive behaviors caused by an individual struggling with addiction and/or mental health disorders. These loved ones gather to express their love and concern to the person of interest as well as examine the harmful effects their behavior has had on the family system. The person of interest is then given a chance to accept professional help at a treatment facility which has been chosen to meet their specific needs. The Intervention process is a highly charged emotionally event, therefore should only be facilitated by licensed clinicians, rather than family members alone or non-clinicaly trained professionals.
What is the purpose of an Intervention? The goal of an intervention is not only to bridge the gap between a person in need of help and a professional treatment program, but it is also to help educate and promote change within the family/support system. Addiction is a family disease which is why it's essential for all participating members to understand their role within the illness and work together to change their behavior and improve their lives.
Why use Monarch for an Intervention? An intervention is one of the most important parts of the recovery experience because it activates the spirit of change. The type of change necessary to achieve sustainable wellness over time must not only come from the person of interest but the entire family system. Monarch uses a Family-Systems approach which examines the "big picture" surrounding an illness. We are not interventionist that solely focus on getting clients into treatment. Treatment center consulting is only one piece of the puzzle. We believe in sustainable long-term health for the entire family, which means the family system needs to be observed and healthy changes must be made in order to break old bad habits. The family will require an intensive educational experience that carefully examines each family member's role in the life of the addicted individual. All participating members of the intervention team are then provided the nessessary education, support, empowerment, resources and most of all, HOPE. Monarch offers clinically trained staff that have Master's level education, decades of clinical experiences and are state-licensed providers. Monarch staff uses a compassionate approach in their work and understands the destructive nature of addiction. Our staff has worked with some of the nation's top treatment providers. Monarch has been trained in using several different Intervention Models; therefore a unique approach can be tailored to meet the needs of any family circumstance. Don't wait until your loved one hits "rock bottom." Raise the bottom and start the process of hope, healing, and health today.
